Dr. Adel El-Naggar’s expertise and collaborative spirit have spurred numerous advances in ACC biobanking, genomics and target identification.
An internationally renowned head and neck pathologist, Dr. El-Naggar is currently a Professor in the Department of Pathology, the Chief of the Section of Head and Neck Pathology and the Director of the Head and Neck Pathology Fellowship Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Since arriving at MD Anderson in 1986, Dr. El-Naggar has led or collaborated on nearly three dozen research projects, received numerous awards for both his research and teaching, and written more than 600 articles published in peer-reviewed journals. With support from ACCRF, he has led or facilitated many of the most significant ACC research projects, spearheaded the creation of the NIH-funded Salivary Gland Tumor Biorepository that provides ACC specimens to researchers globally, shared his resources and knowledge with a wide range of ACC researchers, and established himself as a major contributor to the scientific literature on ACC.
Dr. El-Naggar has been a cornerstone of ACCRF’s activities. His dedication and tireless work have earned him profound gratitute and respect from the ACC patient community.
